The Scandi Launch is an all new series of high performance shooting heads designed to maximize the fun of fishing small flies on floating lines. Each size has been meticulously tuned for two criteria.

First, a unique series of steps in the taper concentrates weight at the back of the head, putting more weight in the D loop and making it easy to load the rod.

An easy casting shooting head designed for effortless distance and great presentation

• The RIO Scandi head is a very easy casting Scandi style shooting head, built on RIO’s ultra-low stretch ConnectCore for the utmost in casting control and sensitivity. It is available in a multitude of lengths and weights to cover all rod and angling situations. For tight casting spots and the utmost in ease of casting use a head length that is between 2.5 and 3 times the length of the rod, thus a 12 ft rod would work best with a head that is between 30 and 36 ft in length. The shorter the head length, the tighter the back casting space an angler can fish in. With more room and better casting skills a longer head provides the angler with less line to strip in between each cast and more fishing time.
  
  For best performance, RIO recommends attaching the following head sizes to these shooting lines sizes:
• 275gr to 450gr – .024"/.026” Powerflex/ConnectCore shooting line, or 25lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
• 450gr to 550gr – .030"/.032” Powerflex/ConnectCore shooting line, or 35lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
• 550gr to 650gr – .035"/.037” Powerflex/ConnectCore shooting line, or 44lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
• 650gr and bigger – .040"/.042” Powerflex/ConnectCore shooting line, or 50lb SlickShooter/GripShooter

The INTOUCH TROUT SPEY line is a very easy casting, short head style line for anglers using light two-handed trout Spey rods, and regular single-handed fly rods (just check the grain weight to match). Each line is built on RIO’s ultra-low stretch ConnectCore for maximum sensitivity, and has a seamlessly integrated running line for ease of use. 

RIO’S 10ft Light Scandi VersiLeaders have a strong core of 24 lbs and come in a range of different densities.

They are a great addition to lightweight Spey lines and Scandinavian heads of less than an 8wt. A neat, bullet-proof welded loop at the butt end allows for fast rigging.

• These fast sinking, level tips use tungsten powder for density, not lead and, as a result, are supple, do not kink and sink like a rock. Built on RIO’s ultra-low stretch ConnectCore, they are extremely sensitive to soft grabs and ensure fast, solid hook sets.
• The tips are color-coded for quick identification and are made with an easy-to-weld coating
• Each tip is designed to be cut and tuned to the angler’s individual fishing and casting requirements

RIO’s Metered shooting line is the ultimate shooting line; packed with features that result in long casts, greater hookups and more efficient fishing. It features an extremely tough outer coating, over a medium stiff Powerflex core that shoots with unbelievable ease for ultra-long casts, has greatly increased durability and ensures tangle-free performance, cast after cast.

The line's ultra-slick coating floats high on the surface, allowing for reduced drag and making it easy to shoot. Bullet proof welded loops on each end make it fast and easy to rig, while the front loop is large enough to pass an entire shooting head coil through, for maximum speed and efficiency when rigging.

• RIO’s new GripShooter is based on the very popular SlickShooter, but has a thick, coated handling section that makes it very easy to grip in cold conditions. The thin nylon shooting line gives casters maximum distance, is light enough to hold off the water at range and allows anglers great control of their head and fly far out in the swing. A neat 8” welded loop at the front end allows for fast and efficient head changes.
