Born on the storied chalk streams of the Spanish river, furled leaders were first crafted of horse hair and later of silk imported. Now they are hand-woven from over 90 feet of premium nylon, providing legendary performance.

All of our leaders are hand-crafted and are pre-looped to attach to the fly line using the simple loop-to-loop method. This means if the conditions change, or you wish to use a different fishing method, you can switch to another ATZ leader in seconds.

These Premium Furled Leaders are custom-made with approximately 100' of Pearsall's premium silk thread.  Pearsall's pure silk is specially formulated from Chinese Bombyx raw silk that is scoured and dyed to meet the needs of the most discriminating anglers.  Far superior to other types of inferior silk thread.This leader matches 1 to 5 weight lines and is tapered in 7 steps.

Silk furled leaders cast accurately, land gently on the water, have almost no memory, and reduce drag.

One application of a paste floatant, such as Salmo paste Floatant or Loon Payette Paste, will float the leader for most of a day's fishing.

• Add 2 to 5 feet of ordinary mono tippet, tie on a fly, and you're ready to fish.  The total leader length w/tippet is then 7 1/2 to 10 1/2 feet long.  You're now using longer tippets than on regular tapered leaders.
